Q. I am thinking of making a drastic change in hair color -- from blonde to red. Is there a way to make this a gradual change? Is there any risk of permanent damage to my blonde roots?
A. Congratulations on starting your exploration in hair color. The most gradual way is to use a semi-permanent hair color which could be used to shade your blonde hair. More red is added over time with each application. Semi-permanent colors impart a high shine and add body with the least amount of damage to your natural hair. An additional benefit should you wish to return to your natural hair color. The red is easily removed.
